If you look, in each of my recent paintings you will find a bird, a type of jay, a tribute to my friend and mentor, Jay Moore, the renowned Colorado landscape painter. By chance, I was lucky enough to discover his mentorship program, which I took part in with four other wonderful artists, now friends. His encouragement pushed me to pull together my strongest painting abilities and paint with joy, which proved invaluable in creating my Family Journey Portraits. He said there are artists who paint large canvases, artists who paint people, artists who paint animals, but few who can paint them all.
