With over 35 years experience, I specialize in large scale commissioned oil paintings, especially those that capture my client’s lifetime in a single piece of artwork. In the portrait below, If Tables Talked, I’ve gathered moments, people, and pets from throughout my life. This was a real table from my childhood, where holiday celebrations always took place. Many memories were made gathered around it, so below I’ve invited everyone to dinner.

I aim to create a visual representation of my client’s life and mind, allowing their present day self to mingle with their past. In short, I create a portrait of your life and family.

HOW IT WORKS

INITIAL MEETING
First, we meet and discuss ideas for your painting. What would you like included? What’s your story? This painting is a blending of old and new, so we look at your photos of family, places, and pets that are dear to you, as well as objects that evoke special memories. The more the better so that I can pick and choose what will work best in a visual storytelling composition. I make copies of your photos and may schedule some time to take my own photos of your memorabilia and family. This is an opportunity for initial discussions about size and placement in your home.

CONCEPT CREATION & STORY SKETCH
I take everything you have shown me and work up an initial sketch, so that you will have a blue print for what the final painting will look like. During this time, I may ask for additional photographs with corrected positioning to work into the sketch.

APPROVAL MEETING
We meet for final approval and you can offer any feedback you may have. At this time, we finalize the size of the painting.

AGREEMENT
Once I receive your approval, I will send a one page contract your way. This will include the price, size, start, and approximate delivery date for both parties to sign. Payment terms are 50% on signature of this agreement and 50% upon delivery of the painting.

I will proceed to paint our agreed composition and create your family heirloom!
